---> 10 weeks from being referred and heard nothing from the primary care mental health services. My GP said the waiting list was 6 weeks.
---> Cannot afford private CBT sessions anymore, after loosing my job. Currently looking for another job.
---> Obsessive thoughts of someone just keep getting worse, so much so much in love with him, but he is taken.
---> Very little progress so far on Citalopram/40mg/4 months. My week consists of 1 normal day, 6 depressive days.
---> WHERE IS THE PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT? A LACK OF!!!!!! I have worked in Mental Health services for 3 years and this puts me off my career. I feel for everyone. I see my GP once a week, and no matter what I tell him, he says stick on the Citalopram.
---> Sorry for being dramatic. But I just feel like screaming all this out everyday. I am ashamed and FED UP!
Hi BubblyBlue,
I am sorry you are feeling like this. I suffer from depression and also take Celexa (in addition to wellbutrin). You mentioned that you could not afford treatment due to losing your insurance. I am in the same boat right now. You may already know this, since you work in the mental health industry, but most counties have mental health programs at little or no cost (for people who are not working and do not have insurance). I don't know where you live, but I live in Texas and I was able to get assistance this way. For a $25.00 monthly fee, I could see a therapist and psychiatrist as many times as I needed to, plus get my meds. Also, you may want to look into Catholic and Christian charities as many offer free counseling (they are quite helpful and you do not have to belong to a particular religion in order to receive help).
Anyway, I really hope you feel better soon! I know how difficult mental illness is.
Linda
