My room mate and best friend is moving back up north to live. He's very unhappy here and wants to live closer to his family. Even though I want him to be happy, I'm still very upset about him going. Now that I know he's going, everything is hitting me at once and I keep crying. He's my best friend in the whole world, I'd talk to him anything that was bothering me. I don't have many other close friends to talk to on a daily basis who truly understands me. I'm so sad and down cause I'm gonna miss him so much.... sadwalk.gif

This must be really hard on you. I am sorry your friend is moving away and yes you will miss him very much.
I hope in time it will get easier for you.
Are you going to keep in touch? These days the internet does wonders and you can still talk to each other.

Hi Samma_Bear,

You don't say if you are getting a new room mate? It is often difficult to lose a good friend when they move away, its like when my children left home. You will miss him.

Do you have any other social contacts you can develop into a deeper friendship, I am not sure if you are at college? It is important for all of us to try and create new contacts and this way we may meet someone we just 'click' with!

Hope you manage to get on with your life okay, and deelop other interests and ativities that will allow you to meet more people.

Thank you for both of your support. :) The reason it's so difficult for me right now is because of the fact I have lots of drama going on on top of all of it but as of lately everything has been cooling down. We plan on keep in contact which is good. I have another room mate but it'll never be the same without him. :(

Hey, sorry, I know much it sucks, my best friend (& just about only friend) of 10 years moved away a few months ago. We still talk now & then, but it isn't the same; his friendship & home were a safe haven for me when I hit really low points. Unfortunately my depression had already begun to create a distance between us and it's hard to try to mend that now that there's an actual physical distance. But miles can never really separate a true friendship, we've been through too much for him to forget me.

On the plus side I have a new vacation spot & somewhere to stay when I can afford a plane ticket out to see him.

My bestest best friend I ever had in my life, Gail, moved to Australia 25 years ago. This was before internet and email, so she is lost completely.

We looked the same, we had the same job, we were colleagues, we really were so similar the people could not tell us apart.

I have tried to find her since then but to no avail. Australia is a big place!
