Hi,

I have some social anxiety, and the Zoloft works for me. I'm not 100% comfortable in social situations; in fact, I'm still very uncomfortable in them. But I fare better in them than I did before I started to take the Zoloft. The other thing is that it does take a while, probably at least a month, for most meds to start working. So it's probably best to just wait and see what happens.

Hi,

I just started zoloft 3 days ago. I am currently coming off celexa, so I am combining 10mg of celexa with 25mg of zoloft per my psych doctor. I am eventually supposed to work my way up to 50mg of zoloft and then ultimately 100mg. I was only on celexa for a month and my anxiety and panic attacks got worse. My doctor decided to switch me to zoloft. I started the celexa for panic attacks and social anxiety. I hate speaking in front of groups of people, to the point where if I have to, I panic and sometimes even find myself avoiding them. I HATE feeling this way and I am determined to find something to help. (I also am in cbt treatment as well.) Sometimes I also have panic attacks just sitting in a group of people, like at a daily work meeting, even when I don't have to talk... Great.

This may sound weird, but I feel a bit better already! Maybe it's too soon to tell really, but I seem to feel much better than when I was on the celexa alone. Maybe I'm just hoping for better results, but I honestly do not feel like I get the same nagging knot in my stomach in the morning before work. I didn't have a panic attack in my work meeting today and I felt a bit more comfortable sitting there. Not completely anxiety free, but definitely better..

I hope this info is helpful to you and I hope the zoloft works for you.. smile.gif

Wishing you both the best with your med. The best advice is keep talking here and to your Dr.
