Hi everyone,

I have a question about pristiq. I just started taking it yesterday. I've been on Wellbutrin XL for 2 weeks now and it was going pretty well. I started WB because of the sexual side effects of Cipralex (which I stopped taking because wb wasn't helping any). Besides the sexual side effects Cipralex really helped me with my anxiety and anger issues. WB on its own is not as effective so my doc suggested Pristiq.

Well yesterday I had to most terrible outburst of anger with my boyfriend. I've been feeling insecure in my relationship and I just let it all out. I haven't been that angry since I started on meds. I was crying so much, crying until my head hurt. He has done some things that hurt me, I feel he's getting distant. But it didn't require me to get to the point I was at last night. This morning I can't stop obsessing about it. I just want to call him and talk to him. I feel terrible, I'm not feeling happy at all.

I was wondering if its possible that the outburst was caused by Pristiq? Has anyone experienced any emotional outburst like this on it?

(Sorry about the length, I tried to make it as short as possible.)

Hi Zane, Yes, anger is a fairly common side effects. I hardly even used to get angry, much less express it. It was quite a surprise to me when I started feeling almost enraged about some things. It took me awhie to really learn to get a handle on that and be able to feel the anger without expressing in inappropriate ways or at inappropriate times.

Hi Iowa!
Thanks for your answer. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Did the anger subside with time? Or is it permanent?
