Hi I'm new here, so I hope you'll forgive me if this has been asked and answered many times already, but.....
My doc scripped me Mirtazapine to help with nasty insomnia and mood following opiate withdrawl/detox.
As far as sleep it worked great, giving me a full 8 hours uninterupted, which was a real blessing at the time. Scrip was for 30mg, but I found 15mg worked just as well so I stuck with that.
Well now it's been 1 year and 4 months detoxed from opiates, and a year on Mirtazapine. I've put on 20 pounds and have just been too lazy and sleepy during the day, sleeping 8 hours plus a nap or two. I figured it's been too long to be opiate withdrawl effects, so I suspected the Mirtazapine.
Fatigue and weight gain are typical on Mirtazapine right ???
So about 3 weeks ago I stopped taking the Mirtazapine, and since then my sleep has been pretty crappy. I fall asleep alright, but every single night wake in about 3 or 4 hours feeling quite agitated, and often very sweaty even though the room is not hot nor do I feel hot.
So I am wondering are these normal withdrawl symptoms ??? And how long will they last ??? I will endure this crappy sleep for the hope of more daily energy and weight loss, but it would really help my sticking with it if I had some idea of how long it will last, and if it is typical ?
Thanks so much fellow Mirtazapine vetrans !
Jesse.
