Hey Folks
Remember that most of us at some time or another do Self Injure ourselves or have really low self esteem and low self confidence.
If you are posting anything that might potentially trigger someone ie if its something that has upset you badly or made you angry or made you hate yourself then add a WARNING.
Just add a few lines at the top of a Post such as
***POTENTIAL TRIGGER***
Which talks about cutting/self loathing/physical or sexual abuse, etc.

Try to leave five or six blank lines before typing your main message.
* No pictures of cuts or other forms of self injury
* No pictures using blood or other forms of self injury
* No graphic descriptions of self injury

Thanks. Remember we need to all of us keep ourselves safe. What is ok for you to read might become very distressing and triggering for another. THINK.
Take care

Hi and welcome to the new home of the Borderline Personality Disorder / Post Traumatic Stress Disorder/ Dissociative Idenity Disorder room.

You are very welcome to come in and read the info and to post your questions or respond to posts.  Feel free to start new topics if they don't already exist or if you need to vent about something that doesn't fit in anywhere.

Please treat others in the way you would wish to be treated and remember that this forum is viewed by teenagers upwards.

This room is perhaps misnamed with reference to the BPD tag cos I would hope that people who have other types of personality disorder would also post in here.

If you aren't sure of where a question should be posted try using the "SPECIAL NEW MEMBER POSTING AREA".  It is designed to be the place where you can ask questions until you find your way around the forum.  Most rooms will have a thread called this.

I hope you don't have to wait too long before you get a response to your posts but please remember that posts may not be answered right away. If you post at night in the USA, I may not see the post till the next day (I'm in Scotland) and so may not respond till much later.

If you have an urgent query regarding medicines or are in a distressed state of mind, you might be better contacting your dr or a crises line (see main area of DF).

Thanks for reading, sorry this welcome is so long.  Its nice to see you here.

Feel free to introduce yourself in this thread.

Eileen

I posted an intro in the New Members forums, but though I should post an intro in the forums where I'll be spending most of my time as well.

I have (had?) PTSD. While I don't think I meet the criteria anymore thanks to intensive outpatient treatment, there are still issues surrounding what childhood that I'm working through. I am a survivor/victim (depending on the day) of human trafficking. I have also suffered the loss of my mom, grandma, and grandpa, the latter two I lived with at the time of their death.

I just recently went back to therapy, which I have been in on and off since I was ~6 years old. The new T seems to think I have more issues/traumas than I realize, and I'm thinking she's right, unfortunately. There were a lot of custody battles growing up as well which she thanks needs worked through.

That's enough for now. I hope this place is a good place for me.

Hi Broken child welcomeani.gif

It's good that you have worked through many of your symptoms to the point where you may have conquered your PTSD.

I am so sorry that you had to go through such an experience. I can't even imagine what that must be like but it's great that some days at least, you see yourself as a survivor. You must have an amazing amount of strength within you. I know what it's like to lose a parent and grandparents who you're close to. Many people here will identify with this part of your story.

Look forward to getting to know you better.
