I have just been prescribed a low dose of Marplan (isocarboxazid) and have been able to find very little, if any feedback about it. Does anyone out there have experience with Marplan? I am on Day#2, and as on so many other AD's, am feeling the discomforts of a new med. Can anyone give me encouragement, info on side effects, etc.?

Thanks!

If I am able to find anything out about it, I will let you know. Hopefully someone will read your post and have something to tell you about it. Good Luck!!

Hello Leslie!!

How are you feeling today?

I was on the internet recently and learned that Marplan, an anti-depressant, is usually taken 2-4 times a day usually no more than 60 mg. The doctor may start you low then increase then possibly reduce the dose.

There are quite a lot of foods and drugs you shouldnt take with Marplan. Foods with high levels of Tyramine, especially. Also it takes several weeks to receive the full effect of the drug. Maybe your pharmacist can print you out a sheet on it. Keep your doctor advised how you are feeling as you go along.

Hope this helped a little. I wish the best for you!!!

HI

I am to start with Marplan this week. Leslie, how did you do on the Marplan and are you or anyone else on it?

I haven't been able to find anyone currently on it. Sooo I really don't know if it is a good choice or not.

Can anyone lend some HELP or Experience with Marplan????

I've been on Emsam for 2 and a half years ---but with it not sticking well and/or partly falling off >>>I'm not getting a

consistent dose. I believe that and maybe building a tolerance to the drug: I am spiraling down. I'm willing to go in the

Hospital if that will help, in getting me on something that will Help quicker

Thanks

GOD BLESS
