Okay. I am feeling good today. REALLY REALLY good. It is actually starting to freak me out. I feel like I am on top of things and getting things done. I feel like I have butterflies in my stomach and have been talking alot to folks I encounter. Is this mania??? On Monday, I could hardly keep my head up. I am starting to feel guilty for being happy. My mom said, "just take it and be happy." I said, "no mom, this is part of the illness." She said, "I know. Just go with it."

Why do I feel guilty for being happy???

Thanks,

Shannon

I don't know. I'm trying to think but I can't tell you why you feel guilty.... maybe it is your depression, as sometimes when we are very depressed we don't allow ourselves to think positively and that might conflict with how you are feeling right now? Check in with your Dr, so he knows what you are going through right now. I'm the opposite right now, I'm going through irritation hell at the moment. I hope you'll calm down soon hugs.gif

Did you actually get anything done? Like from start to finish and you did it well? Did you have the urge to go shopping? Were you awake several days because you were too aggitated/energetic to sleep? Did you have the feeling like you were unstoppible/invincible? Those are some of the qualities of mania. When we've been depressed for a period of time and it lifts, the "normal" mood that we've forgotten returns and may mirror a feeling of mania.

It would definitely be something to discuss with your pdoc, especially if you're on medication. From your other topic, it would be best to seek out a new pdoc.
