Hi all. New member here sigh.gif

I'm currently prescribed 200mg Trazodone for depression, with 40mg as needed Propranolol for anxiety.

Trazodone was chosen as my antidepressant due to my insomnia. A whole night would go by with no sleep. It's working for that...

However, I am experiencing a very unpleasant dry mouth. It wakes me up earlier than I'd like, it's very uncomfortable and I'm worried about potential dental problems. Has anyone taken this for an extended period of time and had this side effect improve? I can't go on with this for long. It has been just under 4 weeks at this dose.

If anyone has any information or experiences they would be very appreciated. Thank you.

Discuss the situation with your doc....there are plenty of other alternatives out there. Seems like alot of these antidepressants cause dry mouth and I've experienced it myself, though not with Traz (I was up to 150mg). I've actually experienced the direct opposite too......clonazepam gave me a wet mouth problem. One morning I woke up with a wet pillow and sheets and wondered for a moment if it was sweat....but my hair wasn't wet nor was I overly warm. Then I discovered one of its know side effects (drooling).

I have been on most of the alternatives with little success.

Have you tried clonazepam for anxiety? If this gives me and others wet mouth perhaps it will counter your dry mouth?
