Have been taking Luvox for over 4yrs. Just went on Lexapro its been about a month. I know I have GAD and depression. I worry about almost everything money, family, health, just anything you can think of I'll worry about it. My doc put me on Luvox for OCD. Never really felt back to normal on Luvox still would worry alot. I always wondered if that was the right med to be on for GAD. Just last month I crashed. Went to see dco and now I'am on Lexapro have some good days and some not so good days. I hope Lexapro can bet me back to normal for I almost don't remember what that feels like. Going on 4yrs of worry and fearing I just want to get better is that to much to ask.

What dosage of Lexapro are you on? I take 40mg of Citalopram; I'm bipolar but I also have anxiety attacks. The citalopram has completely stopped all anxiety, yes I do still worry about things but my brain won't let them develop into anything more than fleeting thoughts now which is really good. 4 years is a long time to be on a med for, are you tapering down from the Luvox gradually?

Hi,

You have just swopped one SSRI antidepressants for another, an that is not unusual as most people do switch if the med is not effective for some symptoms.

Nowadays there is no need to wean down from one before starting another SSRI as this does not cause any problems, I have done ths twice under doctors supervision

I hope you find Lexapro works better for you.

Best Wishes
