I live in New York City...in the borough of Queens, to be exact. It's different here than living in "the city" (Manhattan) and I love it. I was born and raised in Queens and am a total Queens gurl (there can be a bit of rivalry between the boroughs). Queens is one of the most ethnically diverse places on the planet and I love the people, the culture, the food, and the way each neighborhood feels. People actually live here, plant roots here, and I really enjoy that. Also, living in one of the "outer boroughs" is a lot cheaper than living in the city. I like living where there's not a lot of action and I know that if I want action, it's only a short distance away. Living in New York on the whole is pretty great. There's no other place in the country (except, maybe, San Francisco or DC) that I would rather live. There's tons of stuff to do here at all times of the day or night. Now I only wish I could get out of my apartment and experience some of them!

I live by Clair on the other side of the bay in Alameda QUOTE (clairesf @ Sep 22 2008, 09:31 AM) I live in San Francisco, California. I'm a city girl at heart and love the diversity and cultural opportunities that SF has to offer. We have all the things that a big city like New York or Chicago have to offer but on a much more managable scale. The city is 7 by 7 miles or as we say, 49 square miles of paradise surrounded by the United States. Attitudes are very liberal and accepting of different types of people. I'm originally from LA but SF is my home and where I expect to spend the rest of my days...hopefully in a bigger apartment!

QUOTE (Queen_B @ Sep 24 2008, 09:02 PM) Northern Alberta, Canada.
We have all 4 seasons....but mostly we have snow. Lots and lots of snow. And -35 degrees celsius. Last year we had snow on the ground for 9 months. But I wouldn't give it up for the world. The summer is glorious and the scenery and outdoors are to die for. And white isn't a bad colour is it? What a coincidence, I live in Central Alberta. I wasn't sure if I would find many Canadians on here, why, I don't know....lol...I am not "crazy" enough to think I am the only depressed person here....one of MANY I am sure.

Florence, Italy.
Plus: beautiful, you can't help but fall in love with the city and its food. Minus: So many tourists, the inhabitants have no tolerance for foreigners.
Originally from Canada, though.

QUOTE (Jo Rotz @ Sep 8 2008, 06:06 PM) South central Pennsylvania - + We get all 4 seasons, lots of history to study - Too many people (my little town is growing fast), its close to major cities I'm in southeast/south central PA too. Not really far south but I've never heard of PA divided into more than 3 parts E-W and 2 parts N-S so I still fall into the south section. :) I like that we get all 4 seasons as long as winter isn't too cold and there's not snow all the time. I don't like cities either. Philly is not too far and I occasionally consider jobs there but in reality I don't think I could ever be paid enough to live there.

I live in North Central Florida. Upside, is we don't get many hurricanes. Downside, is that the summers are way too long, hot, and humid. I live in a boring University town, and don't get to the beach as much as I like to. It's nice to get away from the snowy winters of Northeastern Pennsylvania, where I lived, originally.

LOL, you are little bit pessimistic about knowing Suomi/Finland. It is a great difficulty to explain even in the Europe where the Estonia locates :P. Greetings to Finland Republic 91 anniversary !

QUOTE (Doomsayer @ Dec 6 2008, 09:20 PM) I live in Estonia. I like it that its cold here. I like that we speak a language here very few people in the world can speak. ohsaa, tere, tere, postitain just siia ja nägin ülalt, et keegi on siin veel from Estonia. Mul ei ole aega praegu uurida, mis probleemiga sa siin oled. Mina kannatan juba ca 18 a üsna raske resistentse depressiooni all. Viimasest 4 aasta pikkusest just välja ronida üritamas. Be free to post about your disease and cure and about yourself (I have a long experience with lots of pharmaceuticals and little background in biomed/mostly experimental, not clinic/. EDU ! To moderators: dont be angry about posting in Estonian, its a great surprise to meet somebody from such little country as Estonia here.

I live in Alaska. My opinion is really mixed.
Summer: Good - Not Cold Bad - Too bright
Winter: Good - Dark Bad - Too cold.
But atleast the state pays me money each year just for living here.
