Has anyone had any help with Lamictal with depression, anger, anxiety etc. I personally dont due well with antidepressents but I need something that will help the constant anxiety, fear, fatigue, etc.

The other meds I am currently taking

100 mg seroquel
.75 mg klonopin
5mg melatonin (natural supplement for sleep)

I feel like I am at wits end with stress, financial, lack of energy etc. My husband suffers from congestive heart failure, and I have an active 2.5 year old. I need to get better. I have zero energy and coffee does nothing for me anymore.

I guess all I have left is my Faith? Is there a Chrisitan section on this forum? smile.gif

First, Melpointy, sorry to hear you are going through several issues. Here is the link to the Depression and Religion Forum. Meet with others who have similar beliefs........

http://www.depressionforums.org/forums/Dep...-Forum-f17.html

Not sure if that'll show up as a link, but just click the Forums tab at the top of any screen.

I think(not a professional here) that all of the meds and supplements you have listed above can cause fatigue. You might want to check with your prescriber or a pharmacist regarding adding melatonin to the prescribed mix. Melatonin is afterall produced in the body, and could likely not be a good thing to be adding to prescribed meds without proper consultation.

Hoping the best for you!

My pdoc knows about the melatonin. This is the only thing that helps me get a full nights rest. I guess as we age our production goes down. Honestly I think alot of it is stress related as the seroquel is lower then it has been in years for the sleep. I have an active 2.5 year old boy runs me crazy, and so on...I think alot of it is just getting some alone time here and there and I miss having that time to myself. When it hits 8pm I am ready to take meds and go to bed. My son also refuses to take naps..maybe once a week.

Just trying to remember if the lamictal helped with the anxiety, anger, etc asscoiated with PTSD and BPD. I was on it last year and I dont remember much of how I was on it since my memory has been zappped.

Thanks for the link and your help. smile.gif

hi melpointy,

i'm sorry to hear you are feeling so tired and worn out! i totally understand, i have a 18 months old boy who keeps me on my toes all day long, sometimes i wish i had some time to myself but being a stay at home mom, the only time off i really get is when he naps or when he sleeps, hehe. i took lamictal for bipolar and it helped me stay stable with my moods, it was the only thing that has helped me. i had a lot of irritation/anger and it helped me so much, i hated the fact i had to get off of it due to insurance issues. i'm looking forward to getting back on it (hopefully) after my dr appt at the end of the month. it does sound like you have a lot of stress, and that is not good, do you see a therapist so you can talk about everything and learn ways of coping with everything that is going on?

I see a therapist once a week but really it just comes down to needing that extra time to myself here and there. My husband does the best he can to help out which is a great help. Going to church once a week sometimes twice helps like I said all I have left is faith. I feel like everything has been taken away. Lost our house, husbands health etc. Not to add a long sob story because this is when I need to look up and thank God for what we do have cause many right now dont have a house, home food. Money is tight and times our tough but I am thankful for what we do have and try to stay on the positive side because when I go down that negative thinking pattern I know where I end up back in a deep depression.

I am going to stick with the lamictal for now cause I see the pdoc tomorrow and I need to get settled for bed.

The bad thing is my son gets his stubborness from my husband and I. I can see that attitude in him and then I sit back and go hmmmm well we tend to have that attitude. Awwwww the terrible two's smile.gif

I guess you just need to laugh at the small things too like my son today grabbing a tampon out of my purse...."Mine" hahaha

LoL how funny you said that, my son just did that the other day and ran off with it and had a blast... roll2.gif It will be interesting when we move, I hope he didn't hide any in his room... he is good at hiding things, lol blush21.gif

You are right, being thankful for the little things is what matters and to recognize those little moments and cherish them.

You are a very strong person for having so much faith! Do not give up, and hang in there, you will get through this hugs.gif

Hi melpointy. I've just recently started taking lamotrigine (lamictal) for BPD. I also take citalopram and mirtiazipine.
