Hi,

I am new to the forum. I was taking Lexapro for years and had gradually increased to 20mg a day. I was doing pretty well except I would still have times where I would cycle down and get depressed. I saw a new psychiatrist in January 2009 who recommended I switch to Cymbalta and started me at 30mg per day. We tried increasing to 60mg and I did not feel good (tired, seemed more depressed). I was doing very well until a month ago when I started feeling very fatigued, less appetite, and in a fog. I went to my regular doctor who ran a series of tests and a complete physical. He found nothing to indicate any physical disease.

So I will be talking to the psychiatrist this week to decide what we should do. He has hinted that we may try increasing the Cymbalta. I am not sure what to do.

Anyone else had this kind of delayed reaction to Cymbalta? I have been on it for almost 4 months now.

Thanks!

Hi jpnwdc,

Hi from my experience it sounds like this SNRI medication is not really working for you after 4 months. I am not a professional so ask your doctor for advice.

Both SSRI/SNRI Medications tend to work after 2-8 weeks, and it may be that your dose needs regulating by your doctor.

Ask your Docrots advice.

Thanks. I spoke with my doctor today. We are going to stop the Cymbalta for 5 days and see if my symptoms subside. Since I am only on 30mg/day, he does not think I will have any withdrawal problems. We will see what happens.
