"Skin in a bottle" type cream. It's soothing, healing, rejects water! Ideal for those of us who hand wash obsessively. It enables us to protect our skin so that our hands can heal, essential at this time of year!

When I find out more I will let you know - it may be available World wide but I have to find out the manufacturer to be certain.

Would "E45 wash" work, as I suffer from dermatitis and frequent washing with normal soap does make it worse.

Have a word with the pharamicist I think that using different creams at different times of the day helps to nourish hands/feet/knees without putting too much of one product on too often.

'Dove' products are soothing too. Some people are allergic to lanlolin but I use it a lot as it's soft, a little goes a long way but I have to spend time working it into the skin: time for ME ;-)

Thought Id add my two cents...

I use Dove handwash for usual handwashing and then antibacterial soap for other more major things. Its really helped my hands but took a long time to trust not using antibacterial soap like you said Lizzy.

I then use Dove handbalm which is fantastic stuff and smells really nice laugh.gif I did use prescribed stuff but it seemed to have melted over time...

My hands look reptilian right now after several weeks working in the garden! I use cream as much as possible but always seem to have my hands in water/earth/grooming dogs ........

I don't know if this is available in Britain, but here in the US I found a wonderful over-the-counter hand cream that works marvels with my cracked, bleeding skin. It's called "Zim's Crack Creme" and it is WONDERFUL--better than anything I have ever used!! It was developed by a pharmacist and has all-natural ingredients, no steroids, and you don't need a prescription for it!

You can find it at Wal-Mart or in most pharmacies like Eckerd's or CVS. It's absolutely the best!!!! taz.gif

i was a hairstylist for many years and there was this skin protectant that we would put on at the start of a day to keep our skin from pruning in the water all day, i think you can find it at med supply stores and it's called something like gloves in a can, the stuff i used came out foamy and used about a golf ball size to rub in. saved my hands for sure!!

Thanks! It's handy for journeys and wash-rooms aren't as clean as I would like!
