Hi All:

In the last 3-4 months I have been having the weirdest things happening to me. Sometimes in my peripheral vision I see things, like some sort of small animal scurrying by, or just a black box or object sitting there, or seeing a glimpse of a person (not a male or female, no gender), etc. So I do a double take to see did I really see that? Is there something really there? and of course there isnt. Am I loosing my mind? I have noticed also within the same time frame that I dont feel good, I feel strange out of sorts, my mind feels loopy, I dont feel like I am grounded. It is hard to explain the feeling. I just was wondering if anyone else had ever experienced anything like that; the hallucinations or whatever they might be?

I have that sometimes. Sometimes I think it's a ghost or spirit. Other times I think it's just my eyelashes getting in the way. I'm not sure.

I get that all the time, then again i put it down to working by myself. Any little noise or something makes me look around. Unsure what it could be though!!!

My Dad experienced this when he started on antidepressants... have you started on ADs recently?

Hi and thanks for the response. I have been taking ADs for a while now about 3 weeks ago I started taking Bupropion SR 150 mg twice a day but I have been experiencing these strange hallucinations before I started the Bupropion.

thanks again.

Hi Surgeon, thanks for responding. I dont work alone and it isnt all the time either, and the things dont happen at any set time. I guess I am going to have to talk to my doc and see what he says.

Thanks again. I dont know what it is; I just hope I am not going totally nuts.

Don't worry, this happens to me too. I sometimes wonder if its like a piece of dust or something that lands on your eyeball that then gets washed away by the liquid on your eye. But it could also be small hallucinations - no worries though it happens to everyone sometimes (at least I think so)

thanks PaulH, but I dont think it is a dust or lint or anything like that and I am not going to go nuts over it (well maybe I already am lol). Maybe it is stress, I have certainly been under a massive amount since the beginning of the year. I appreciate your response though it's good to know I am not alone.

I see things, or I guess I should say I think I see things on a regular basis. Mine are more along the lines of small dark thinks that jet across the room real low to the floor. At first I would think it was a bug that crawled into the corner and I would go look and nothing would be there and we dont have bugs by the way (the occassional spider yes, but not the amount of "bugs" that I have seen lately). Eventually I just kind of gave up and chalked it up to stress. I dont think we are losing our minds in the straight jacket sense of the word but I think our minds are wandering and maybe that is where the seeing things come from. Sometimes like I said it is a small dark object, sometimes I feel like I see a spec of light, I havent ever really seen any figures, however, I am always very edgy when I see these things. Its kind of interesting to read that so many people who are in similar situations also share these visual whatever you want to call them.

Good idea. Getting professional feedback on what's happening (the "illusions") will get you better treatment.

I take Risperdol (anti-psychotic) to eliminate the strange noises I hear (clanking chains, voices calling me, etc.) I used to see "spectres" with my periferal vision but they seem to have stopped appearing in the last few years.

It is interesting how many people are experiencing or have experienced the same things; well it is good to know that the men in white with the handy little "jacket" (and why do they call it a "straight" jacket anyway? lol) wont be knocking at my door anytime in the near future (hopefully).

Maybe we should write a script and we can call the movie "I See Things" laugh.gif yeah I know not funny. LOL

Take care and thanks.

Hi Sheepwoman: Thanks for writing I have made an appt with my doc for next week but it is my GP. I am a tad upset cause I recently found out that the therapist that the Employee Assistance Program that we have at work referred me to is not on my preferred provider list so if I want to continue seeing her it is going to cost me ALOT of money; so basically I have to start from scratch; that really really s**ks I have a hard time opening up as it is.

I havent heard noises/sounds. I will keep you posted as to what the doc says.

Take care and thanks again.
