Does anyone know if there is a difference between the brand name Zoloft medication and the generic version Sertraline? Does one actually work better than the other? The only one available at my pharmacy (CVS) is the generic so I've been taking that but I've heard some people say they've read articles about how the brand name is more effective. What are other people's thoughts?

Hi sanz,

I do not take that particular med but the meds I am on are generic. I use to take effexor before, now I am on the generic and I realy don't feel the differance. I am not sure but I believe most of the differance is in the fillers more so then the actual meds part.

The only medication that I do not take in generic form is Synthroid on doctor's orders. With Hashimoto's disease, managing the Thyroid is not an easy task. The rest of my medications are all generic.
