I found this wondrous place by typing 'depression forum' into Google, and obviously it was the first one that came up :)

I needed a depression support forum, because on , the site I usually go to, they don't let you post a lot of threads at a time in their depression forum The Haven, and I had a lot of stuff to post. So I typed "Depression support forum" into Yahoo and this was, I believe, the first thing on the list. I'll write in my signature on the other site (where I'm Ana54) that I'm Anastassia Florine on depressionforum.org.

I also typed depression forum in but this site was the third or fourth link. The name just seemed more appealing to me so I clicked on this link. The other forums listed all seemed not as serious. I am so grateful this site exists. I joined at a time when I felt my whole life slipping through my fingers again and it is helping me to keep my depression a bit under control. Just knowing and reading how others are going through what you are makes you not feel as alone.

Mine is kind of funny actually. I found an old container of Wellbutrin in my drawer (I no longer take Wellbutrin) and out of curiosity, I smelled it, and it smelled horrible. So I typed into Google "Wellbutrin smells weird" and a post in the medication section of the forum came up, lol.

I used Google, I was intentionally looking for a Depression Forum and this one seemed the best.

When I have been depressed previously I had avoided forums etc for depression, my mindset was 'Yeah talking to other depressed people is going to make me worse' I couldnt have been more wrong!

I am so, so glad I found this forum, it is nice to feel that I am not alone with how I think and feel and I feel a wonderful sense of community on DF. My BF, friends, family can sympathise but they cannot empathise with how I am feeling, its lovely to be able to relate to people about it.

I'm pretty sure it went like this. At one point where my OCD had (pretty much) total control over my life I thought that the only way for me not to be lonely was to find people who were going through the same thing I was.

And I was brought here, lol.

Sometimes Google can be a wonderful and helpful world of help for all.

--------------------

Nurturing
As we plant the seeds for a flower bed, we must nurture those seeds by watering and weeding so that the flowers may become beautiful and strong. Without the nurturing they may whither away.
As we plant the seeds for our gardens to grow our foods, we must nurture those seeds with watering and weeding so that the garden may give plenty of the food we need. Without the nurturing we may go hungry.

As humans we have seeds planted within our hearts, souls and minds, those seeds must also be nurtured with tender love and care so that we may feel, see and think better. Like weeding the flowers and gardens we must also weed out the bad thoughts and feelings that we suffer with any type of illnesses. Give yourself some nurturing and let others support that nurturing in weeding out the bad seeds and replacing them with seeds of love and peace of mind, we all have right and the ability to see that the world is a beautiful sight just as the beauty within ourselves. By nurturing, we won't go hungry and whither away with our illnesses.

Loved your answer as I had just been prescribed Wellbutrin and found DF as I was researching it (via Google of course!). I read someplace else (might have been connected to DF as well, but was just reading those answers) that someone said one generic of Wellbutrin had a bad odor. I changed my pharmacy to get the generic by the specific pharmaceutical company that most recommended.

Depression is bad enough...don't want smelly meds on top of it. shocked.gif

Like so many others, plain old Googling for depression forums.

--------------------
Alfred Pennyworth, Batman Begins:
"Why do we fall, sir? So that we might learn to pick ourselves up."

Batman, Arkham Asylum, a Serious House on a Serious Earth:
"I'm afraid that the Joker may be right about me. Sometimes I question the rationality of my actions and I'm afraid that when I walk through those asylum gates... when I walk into Arkham and the doors close behind me... it'll be like coming home."

Cpt. Ahab, Moby D1ck:
"He piled upon the whale's white hump the sum of all the general rage and hate felt by his whole race from Adam down; and then, as if his chest had been a mortar, he burst his hot heart's shell upon it."

Rocky Balboa, Rocky Balboa:
"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward."

I suppose I didn't realize that just by typing in certain meds would be linked to different websites like this. I find it good to know this.
