Hi!!
I am absolutely pleased that my depression has lifted, but since I have been on WB I feel like I have had too much coffee, foggy, scatterbrained, and slightly "un-well". I have been on WB for over 2 months.
I am going to talk to my psychiatrist about being on a lower dose, but I am already pretty low!!! I am on 150 of Wellbutrin and 100mgs of Zoloft . We wanted to get me up to a level where I can take XL but I am wondering if I should just stay on a lower dose. I feel sort of on the cusp of anxiety all of the time. I am also on Gabapentin to even out the excitability of the WB but to be honest, I don't think it is doing anything.
I just would like some input, whether a low dose of Wellbutrin is working for you, and whether I need to give these side effects more time. I know there aren't exactly answers to these questions but just wanted some input.
Happy to be depression free but wish I physically felt a little better.
take care!!
Thanks! wub.gif stephanie

Hi sstip,

I am very pleased to know that your depression has lifted , All the questions you ask , would be best adressed to your
psy. Each person has a different tolerance level and needs as far as meds are concerned . It depends where you are in your recovery etc . Keep on the doses prescribed until you see your psy . maybe he could see you before your next appointment if you feel anxious about it . The unwell feeling may have other root causes . and not be entirely due to the meds .

Take care hugs hedge

The other question to ask is how long have you been on Zoloft in combination with WB? It could be the combo, but I'm guessing at that. You shouldn't be getting side-effects from the WB by now. Did you have the same feelings when you first started WB? I would definitely suggest you call or make an appointment with your pdoc to discuss your symptoms.

I have discussed them with her and she doesn't seem to think much of it. I really like her and feel she is looking out for my best interests so that is why I wondered if it was just me or if other people had felt the same way.
On 75 mgs of WB I did not feel side effects. When I went up to 100, I did, and still sort of do. My guess is that I need to be on a low dose.
I'll look at the boards and see what other combos people are on. I cannot tolerate the anxiety that comes with WB but am happy with the added energy, lack of depression!! and lack of sexual side effects, but I do not think with my anxiety that I could be on it alone.
I'll talk to my psych. again. I do not think I can handle another med change, though!!! taz.gif
Thanks for your replies!!!

Steph:

Sounds to me like the WB/Zoloft combo isn't working for you. Definitely do talk to your doc. I know another med change would be quite difficult, but, unfortunately, trial and error is the only way to find the right meds.

Hang in there. Good luck, hon. Please let us know what your doc has to say.

Hi Stephanie: I'm on a combo as well; Lexapro and WB150XL. Are you taking XL? As soon as I went from 150IR to XL, all the SEs went away. I've been symptom free from XL to the point that I don't feel anything from it really (after one month only). That's not a good thing, because I want my Libido back! Some energy would be nice and a decrease in appetite would be lovely too. The depression and Anxiety/Panic are in check still at the current dosage of 5mg Lex and 150XL WB.

Everybody is unique, but if you are experiencing anxiety, and didn't before WB, that could be what you are up against. Just because it is not "typical" doesn't mean it aint so. Good luck to you. Anxiety sucks. Cheryl

Thanks for the replies. I seem to be feeling better on 100 so my Dr. said "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
I appreciate your input.

Please keep us posted, Steph.

Again, another good day. I went to my acupuncturist, after a very long time, and I am going to try to start an exercise program. He couldn't say enough how important exercise is for our overall well-being. He says just take it slow. Any movement in the morning is good. I know that he's right. Amazing how it's a struggle to do good things for ourselves but so damned easy to do the wrong things!!!
I really appreciate this forum and the support it offers.
Smiles,
Steph

Steph:

Are you receiving acupuncture treatments for depression? I've always wondered about possible Eastern medicine treatments for my depression, anxiety and schizoaffective disorder.

For now it is for back pain which is probably due to depression/anxiety. I have heard it can be very effective for mental illnesses also..........I will address that with him after I hopefully get my pain taken care of.
I am hoping that as my body starts to feel better, maybe my outlook will too.
Smiles.

I find that even a low dose can have issues of making me feel a little jumpy. Ever since I've started studying for an entrance exam I've lowered my dose a lot. Not sure if the Wellbutrin is causing me to lose concentration. But yea, it can make you feel very jumpy sometimes, but usually - from what I hear - people get over that feeling eventually.

Wellbutriner:

The WB could very well be causing you to lose concentration. WB is infamous for causing jitters, anxiousness and just general restlessness. Generally speaking, the longer you take the med the less you'll notice this nasty SE, as your system will adjust. However, this SE will decrease, not go away all together. I've been taking WB for 7 years and I still need Xanax to help me cope from time to time.

It is best to take WB as early in the morning as possible to help avoid sleep interruptions.
