well, i went to my doctor and he said it sounds like i
"may" have brochictis (sp), and just to drink losts of water he also says i just could have not swallowed the prozac with enough water. i doubt thats what it is.. and
take mucinex. i think i am going to wait a few days
to get the prozac out of my system before taking the mucinex
its not really that bad but im not sure if im going to continue with
the prozac.. i might after i feel better but if this happens again then i know to stop :(

HI webbgirrl,

There are lots of weird and wonderful side effects that you can experience when starting an AD. Try to give it a chance as they do wear off after a week or two. Hope you feel better soon. xx

Webbgirrl-

Though it's not an often reported SE, I had severe respiratory problems when I was Rxd Celexa. That was one of the many SEs that took me right off the med after a 2 month "experiment". Both Celexa and Prozac are SSRIs so I don't find it at all peculiar that people could have similar experiences with either.

Please talk with your doc about this before you decide what you are, or are not, going to do with this med. The chest cold could have just been a coincidence that can in no way be tied to the medication.
So, I support you in questioning this, but I caution you in making this a predetermination without being able to substantiate it. Prozac could very well turn out to be the miracle med for you, yet you could end up dismissing it as a result of a fluke regarding physical health issues.

thanks guys for the insight..
i did talk to my family doctor today about it and he said to keep taking it i am going to ask for a lower dose Monday.
I still am feeling relaxed from the 20mg I took yesterday, and not as panicky as I normally would so I guess thats a good thing.

Did you primary care doctor prescribe it for you? Although it can be more expensive, I would always go with a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse when starting psychotropic drugs. In my opinion, primary care docs have no business prescribing it.

It depends where you are though Ribosome as in the UK most people get seen my primary care doctors for these situations. We don't have the option of seeing psychiatrists unless the GP thinks it necessary to make a referral.

That's good that you're feeling ok webbgirrl. Hope it keeps up for you xxx
