Im off to Thailand today with my finacee yay!!! however i would like to have a drink once over there!
I am taking Epilim and Serequel Xr, if i went out one night out on the town and had abit of a drink
would this be ok? i mean not to binge drink but to have a few "happy ones" Now i know
that most Dr's will say no but what if it wad just 1 night, or maybe i could skip my meds for 24hours
the nday that im going to go out ??? its ok if you miss our meds for a day and it would mean the Serequel and epilim
would be out of my body just for the night?

any comments would be apprciated

I myself would not have a drink on these meds. It really isn't worth the risk. It will make you more tired and it is a depressant, and could cause you to spiral down. You can enjoy life without it. I am finding I am a much nicer person without. I am starting to enjoy my kids and grandson again.

I must admit that I have always sort of been dependant on alcohol in social situations, to have fun and "lighten up", as people scare me.
However, I am actually looking forward to have to adjust this new life as a non-drinker. Learning to have fun without it, be social without it. Could be very good for me, in a lot of areas.

You could try without, and see.
No point in messing around needlessly with your body if you don`t need it.
Just dance, and laugh, throw stuff around. You don`t have to be drunk to be happy, I guess. At least that`s what the positive people aroung here is saying, and I am trusting them, so..

Give it a shot, just don`t drink one.

Nothing is more uncomfortable than having a weird reaction/medical issue in a country where you don't know anyone, don't speak the language and are unfamiliar with the medical system and it takes 15 hours on a plane to get home! Really, I wouldn't suggest it. There are lots of things in Thailand that you can enjoy without having a drink...in fact, the culture shock might make you feel drunk anyways.

Hey hon i completely agree with sindy. I am a recovering alcoholic & life is so much better w out liquor & it messes up ur meds. I was a heavy drinker n also taking my meds so it made me worse i was not the person i really am when i was drinking & on my meds, i was very mean not abusive in any way but i just didnt care at all about anyone i had no feelings, now that i am sober im myself again. Good Luck & have fun!!!!! XOXO wub.gif

i have no idea what epilim is and as for seroquil, if your gonna drink and nothing will change your mind skip it that day. i'm not suggesting you drink but if you don't know how you react then don't do it...it might make people look at you different if you freak out or start talking mumbo jumbo....i suggest you skip both that day if your gonna drink, soroquil messed me up when i took it and i can't imagine alcohol mixing well with it...let us know how it went
