HI
I was taking anti-depression/anxiety pills from 2005 thru November 2007. Discontinue use of pills in December. Around Dec 2007 thru January 2008 I noticed my hair thining. My hair used to be extremely thick and now its only half of what it use to be. I thought I needed vitiamns therefore in April I started with all the necessary B-Complex vitiamns, Saw Palmentto, Ginseng, B-Stress pills, C, Silicia, esstential oils on sclap (everyday)and massages every night I've been taking these the supplements from April 2008 until current date. I have not seen a change. My question is: Can the discontinue use of anti-depression pills cause an adverse reaction to my hair loss? Has anyone every had such a problem with this? If so, what is the solution? Does Effexor help with not causing hair loss during high levels of stress?

Thank you in advance
Lisa

I'm 99% positive that an anti-depressant would not have any bearing on hairloss. Are you healthy as in exercise, eat well, and see the doctor for a checkup? If I was really worried about it, I would see a specialist.

You should consult your doctor especially since it has lasted so long.
Thyroid problems can cause this but a simple blood test would show it.
