Hello board, it's my first post but I've been reading here a lot. Here's my question, I've gained 20 pounds on Celexa in one year. I had maintained my weight before getting on it for 4-5 years. I'm 32, active, vegetarian, and wondering if this is due to the drug or just me getting older. I take 40mg Celexa now and I feel great. I started taking it for anxiety and it has helped so much in that department, but now I'm fatter and not happy with that. Do you think a switch to Lexapro would help my weight gain and still help me the anxiety I have? Many thanks for your replies.

If you switch, I'd be interested to see how Lexapro works for you. I'm on Mirtazapine and I am steadily packing on the pounds and have stopped exercising due to sleeping in. I feel like a zombie on my Meds. I think I'd be better off with 2 beer a night and then 2 hours on the road cycle in the morning. Usually I eat a heavy Veg diet, but now I'm plowing back the greasy meat. Yuck.

I will let you know, I've started working out heavily and laying off the sweets to see if that makes any difference. If I don't see a change, I'm going to take the Lexipro dive. I'll keep you posted.
