I've read a handful of topics and posts here relating to Wellbutrin-users being asked to switch to generic by their insurance companies, and the switch resulted in a breakdown and return of symptoms.

But what about the other way around? Has anyone who changed from Budeprion XL to Wellbutrin XL experienced a difference in efficacy/symptoms?

When I switched from budeprion to buproprion I felt more anxious and depressed. I am switching back to the supposedly bad Teva version called budeproprion. Anyone else with this experience

I have ever only taken Budeprion as an XL and frankly I feel fine. Yeah, I've read all the stuff about how terrible it is, but after a few weeks it settled down so I hardly notice any bumps at all.

I think the reaction of the medication to a specific person is all in how your body reacts. That is why its so hard to say which may effect you one way or another. Many of us here have had issues with one variation or another, some others had no probelms at all since day one.

My inital startup was on the Brand version and as many was booted to the Teva generic which was just awful (terrible chest pain and headaches) even then my insurance will only cover the brand for a year at a large cost to me, but I have no choice its the only version that works for me with no problems.

There is no better treatment for depression then the support of your family.

the generic was HORRIBLE for me and almost caused me to commit suicide. THe anxiety and side effects were the worst thing I've felt in a long time, horrible anxiety, terrible headache, shortness of breath, suicidal depression, etc. I was on the instant release version tho,not the XL.

The brand name hasn't caused any of these side effects
