hey guys i have been suffering from anxitey for 20 years since i was 20 years old but sice that started i also have tinnitus i finally started doing some reaserch on my own which includes people feedback on heses types of forums, and i wanted to know what u guys think about this when your nervous system is over reacting alot of things happen includindg constiction of blood vessels now i know you have blkood vessels in your ears and when i am under more stress imy ears ring louder which indicates to me that my blood vessels are constricted and there is not enough volume of blood going thru them, thats were the meds come they are called vasodilaters which widen your blood vessels, so i think i have something to present to my docter to see what he thinks about it but i have done alot of research and thias only makes sense to me so i hope anyone reading that sufferor not from tinnitus can give me there opinion on this matter thanks john

unsure.gif Interesting concept. I also experience what you do, with the ringing getting louder when anxiety is severe (like now)

Hi jeebise23. I have Tinnitus also. Came on after taking Zoloft and never went away. even though my p-doc put me on something different. I will be interested in what your doc has to say. I know that the ringing is louder when my anxiety goes up. However, it is also louder on exertion. Such as when I excercise. Everything I've read states that when blood pressure rises, the ringing gets louder. When blood pressure goes up it doesn't necesarily change
the size of the vessel just changes the pressure inside of it. Are we talking about the same action/reaction? There are so many variables that cause the ringing to increase in volume that it's ridiculous. For me...salt, sugar, loud noises, SILENCE (the big one) excercise and of course anxiety. Let us know what you find out. Peace.......................................POPI
