Hi There,

I have had this problem with meds... the things is each med works differently for each person, so it may take awhile to find the right one for you. On the other hand, you might have to just keep with one until the side effects simmer down, which could take a few weeks or so. I hope you start to feel better, and you find the right meds for you!

Hi gulleyrc,

This is a side effect that normally passes with time for a lot of people on ADs. Your dose is small so it should be a temporary phase. I don't know how long you have been on 10mg? I am on 40mg and I don't have this problem anymore.

Hope you feel better soon. See you Doctor if no improvement.

Best Wishes

Jim Bow

Just to be clear, you take it in the morning and you are still very tired come the next morning?

As someone else said this will fade after a week or two, possibly longer, but it won't be permenant.

HI Gulley,

Are you taking Lexapro?
I was on 40mg of citalopram and I felt sleepy for the whole 6 months I was on it. Just coming off it now and feel so much better. If you still have it after 4 months, I doubt it will go away although you may get more used to it. xx

Hey xx -
sorry for the late reply, but I did discontinue use around the 1st of August. I am not feeling as sleepy but still do not hear my alarm, or I turn it off w/o remembering. My BB is my alarm, so last night I made my alarm tone a song from my music. For reference, it was Bob Segar, Night Moves. I listened to the whole song while slowy waking up. So that worked for me.

The only difference I can tell really is that I am slightly more emotional, things tear me up now. Before i could not shed a tear if I had too.

Again, sorry for not replying sooner! Hope you are doing well.
