Another mental health support website, GOT THE BEST OF ME....
I quit it in a rage of extreme madness at everyone involved in the site. The culture there is just like I would
image a mental institution without doctors or gaurds. The moderator don't moderate. What the heck does a moderator do anyway? I mean when topics become battlegrounds I would think that some one should
step in and say...hey ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

That was why I QUIT under duress and at the advise of my tdoc who believes not in web sites of that nature
as a helpful venue.

Oh I could go on forever.......

But she was right. My total anxiety has vanished from my everyday real life.

Yes I was the guy who had trouble which I documented here some months ago.

Maybe I am crazy for even trying to post here?

later....Dusty

Hi DustyRoads!

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience at another site.

Our moderators here at DF work very hard to make sure that this remains a safe and comfortable community for ALL of our members. We keep our mission of support in mind at all times.

If you or any member sees a post that you think should be reviewed by our moderators/admin team, please hit the REPORT button that is at the bottom of every post, OR PM any moderator or admin to let us know. We do the best we can on our own, but the help of our members in alerting us to troublesome posts is always appreciated. hugs.gif

Sorry that you had this bad experience with another forum, but please feel comfortable, here. The moderators do moderate and will intervene if things seem to be getting out of control. Usually there's always a mod on and if problems arise, you can pm us and we have the ability to look at all the post very quickly and take care of whatever has to be done.

Our intention is to make this a friendly, informative place where you can get support. smile.gif

Thank You All..........
That is what it is all about! I am aware that the people here are plain nicer.
I was just too wrapped up and tense with the social aspects. Almost as if I was back
in high school with the same wanting to be wanted social anxiety feelings.

Which is odd in that I don't feel that way around people in my real life. I started to care
about everyone in a different way online.

see you around..Dusty

Just a note concerning kindness. My grandmom's favorite saying whenever I was having a " I am not going to take it anymore" moment was....

Dusty, be nice, you'll catch more flies with sugar than with vinegar.

I think I know what she meant. How bout it, sounds good to me, but never got me less upset at the time.

Hi Dusty,
There are some great forums about but unfortunately some bad ones too as I discovered to my cost.
I joined one where the moderators were plain nasty, they told someone to go "boil his head and take his wife and cronies with him" When anyone tried to respond they got their post deleted and banned.

I and loads of others got banned [apparently guilty by association] so we started our own support forum which I moderate on.

Luckily this forum[DF] is great and very well run. smile.gif

I’ve learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.

Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.

It seems to me that some sites care more for rules than the people, like you have said. Non-Normies who may need a safe haven from drama. To me sites need to be more objectively kinder in meeting the goals of helping anxiety.

It's ok to be pulled over for going 80 down the NJ Turnpike and get a warning from the State Police, as most cars are going faster. Just don't impound my car, and ticket me. I think that would be overkill, ya know.

The culture of a site can demand too much from everyone, mods, members and even admins which can be counter productive to the mission. That's funny that you started your own forum then. I can see you understand life in the internet lane. EmoticonDogRun.gif supdnikwitch.gif confused-read.gif welcomeani.gif tongue.gif Dusty

Hi Dusty,
I should have explained better.
The site was a support site but not a depression/anxiety type of thing. Totally different site altogether.

My good friend set up the new site and as a group of us needed support still we were asked to help out with the running of it.
I do very little really, just greet newcomers, watch out for any trouble, make sure posts are ok etc etc.

love Daisychain.

Hello newcomers.........Actually that means alot. I recuited a new member to join here a month ago. And she got a hello and got her a few postings on her first topic. She was very happy about that. Little things like a warm greeting can and do mean alot. To me a mods job S/B to make sure posts are ok, That's all.
It is funny how mod's patrol the boards, I don't like to be followed by a cop car down the road. LOL.
Each time I sign on I am parinoid there will be a warning for some infraction. GAD is like that. innocent.gif
