Please add to this thread with any initials you've come across as you deal with these various mental illnesses, and if you know what the initials stand for, be sure to share that, too!

ADD = Attention Deficit Disorder
ADHD = Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
PPD = Post-Partum Depression
GAD = Generalized Anxiety Disorder
ASD=Autism Spectrum Disorder
PDD=Pervasive Developmental Disorder
AS=Asperger's Syndrome
NOS=Not Otherwise Specified
OCD   Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
MPD   Multiple Personality Disorder (old name)
DID    Dissociative Identity Disorder (new name for MPD)
DD     Dissociative Disorders
PTSD  Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
*****    as seen on prescriptions:
PRN = as needed
BID = twice a day
TID = three times a day
QID = 4 times a day
HS = bed time
*****

ODD - oppositional defiance disorder
MDD: major depressive disorder
BD: bipolar disorder
BPD: borderline personality disorder
TX: treatment
DX: diagnosis
PW - Praeder-Willi Syndrome (pronounced prah-dur willy)
PMDD - Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder
CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
ECT - electroconvulsive therapy (shock treatments)

*****How about some of the basic ones.  I belong to another board and we always get questions about our shortcuts:

dd = dear daughter or well what else might be applicable if you know what I mean.
ds = dear son.  or same as above.
dh= dear husband or same as above.
gd= granddaughter
gs= grandson
LOL = laugh out loud
KWIM = Know what I mean
ttyl = talk to you later
IMHO = In my honest opinion
RSN = Real soon now
BTW = By the way
AFK = Away from keyboard
AFAIK = As far as i know

oh dear, the acronyms i know. none of them will ever be used here so there's no point in posting them, but i know a few... hmm maybe i should post them... actually no i wont, some people might find them unpleasant.
