hello everyone, i am having alot of problems with anti depressants i have tried 2 ssri's (celexa, zoloft) and a tricyclic called imipramine, with each one i keep getting the same allergic reaction, throat swelling, i can feel it right below my adams apple its kinda like a pulsing, throbbing feeling which makes it hard to swallow. my doctor told me she doesnt actually know for sure if its an allergic reaction but she told me to take benadryl with it and it should counter it. im concerned because i dont want to end up in the emergency room. im scared because this is 3 in a row i've gotten this reaction to and im worried i will get this reaction to every single anti depressant. i feel so hopeless, frustrated and pi**ed off and i just really need something to work for me. what the hell is wrong with my body and why does my throat act up on all these anti depressants?

so what do you guys know about this? IS it an allergic reaction?

Not sure if it's allergic, but I know that I get this feeling when I'm really nervous / anxious. The first few weeks of Lexapro made me feel even more anxious, so it's possible this might be a side effect? Either way, talk to your doctor about your concerns.
