Hello,

I had been taking Prozac 20mg/day for 5 days, then the day before yesterday, I started taking 40mg/day per doctors orders. Since I started on 40mg/day (about 36 hours ago) I...um...haven't been able to go. I know its only been 36 hours, but its got me kinda freaked out, as prozac seems to be working already. I don't want to stop taking it, or bump back down to 20mg/day, as I usually require high doses for some reason. I wonder if I should just wait a day or two? Maybe buy some sort of laxitive for the first couple days until my body adjusts to the new dosage? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: I did take a Flexeril for my tension for the first time that day as well. Could the two interacting possibly make me constipated?

Is this a side effect that will go away? Or does constipation usually stay and I have to try a different med? Maybe I should have been bumped up to 30mg/day first, then 40? Any suggestions or input?
