i have been mildly depressed forever, with huge massive states of depression occasionally.
i can hardl;y move today, feel like i ma a black hole soomehwere.

i am in one of those deep low plcesx. i was taking lithium to help stabalize me for 6 months. it worked. never had a low in that time. but i stopped tkaing it. now i wonder if i shoudl restart. i dont like taking it, have no memory on it, so bad i wrote a school paper twice, forget entire conversaions ect, and get bad jitters, but i did not have the bif=g fall at all.

i dont even know why or what i am posting. i am feeling very still and foggy. my boyfriend is very worried for me. my dr moved.

if i make any sense please reply. could i be unipolar? these drops are very dark, bigger than mountains. paranoid and axious the past few days too. sorry for my lack of anything.

Welcome, womanundertheinfluence (gods, what a long name! laugh.gif)

To be honest, you sound like you're in a really bad spot. I'm not sure what your doctor diagnosed you with, but if you've stoped taking the lithium without consulting a doctor, I would highly recommend you see a new doctor as soon as possible.

Whether it is depression or bipolar (or anything else) is quite frankly irrellevant - you need help! Feeling this down isn't right, and it completely clouds your judgement.

Please, see a doctor ASAP and get some professional advice on what to do.

Hircon's right...at this point whether it's bipolar or unipolar is irrelevant...you need to see your doctor as soon as possible. You should definitely speak with them about your medications, and they can help you get better.

Take care.

Yup. Depression can make us feel like we live a galaxy away from everyone else. Like we're living inside an impeneterable bubble that prevents us from connecting with the world.

Depression is quite probably one of the most "selfish" diseases there is, because it can cloud your judgement and thoughts so much you simply cannot think about anyone but yourself, and misery. Thats what I get like.

Yes, you could be unipolar, but as others have said, your label matters far less than getting treatment NOW. Whether or not you decide to restart your meds, you do need to find a new pdoc NOW, as much as you don't feel up to it. Please enlist your boyfriends help in searching around, and asking about available doctors, and booking you an appointment. He'll be doing you a massive favour and he'll probably be happy to actually be able to DO something.

I know the place where you can't get to even finding a doc - I was there a few months back and it took someone else to just take me there and I had to allow someone to take over.

For my unconquerable soul.

How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul." - "Invictus" (abbreviated), William Ernest Henley, 1875
