The treatment of mental disorders is a personal trial and error process. Just because one person has severe headaches when they use Zoloft doesn't necessarily mean that if you take Zoloft YOU will have headaches too. Conversely, the fact that Paxil didn't work at all for one member does not mean that Paxil cannot be your success story.
Your wonder drug or combination of, will be discovered totally independent of what may or may not work for another individual. If one drug was the answer for everyone, then there would be only one drug on the market. We all react differently to different medications and varying dosages.
It may satisfy your curiosity to learn about other people's experiences, BUT this should never be the deciding factor as to what will work best for you. Sorry, it just doesn't work that way.

I am currently taking Neurontin for Nerve pain at 900 milligrams a day. My doctor wanted me to increase the neurontin to 1200 milligrams and than 1800 millligrams. So far I haven't gained any weight at the 900 milligram does, but need more pain relief. My doctor also wanted me to try the Cymbalta again at a lower start up does of 20 milligrams. I increased the Neurontin to 1200 milligrams several days ago and last night started the Cymbalta again. I weighed myself this morning and have gained 2 pounds, which is unusual for me. I have not been eating more and feel it is due to one of these medications either the increase in Neurontin or the Cymbalta. Since I have been taking the Neurontin for a bit I don't know if the recent increase could cause this weight gain. Does anyone have any experience with this medication. I really dont want to gain bunch of weight.

Thanks,
April

I take 2400mg of Neurontin/day with no weight gain. It could be the Cymbalta. All pmeds have weight gain/loss as an SE. To combat weight issues, eat a healthy diet full of fruits, veggies, whole grains and omega-3 fish. Get plenty of aerobic exercise. I walk 3-5 miles everyday and do weights.

I'd give it a little more time and see how your weight does. 2 pounds is really not that much.
