I am very lucky I live in Aus and we have a pretty good healthcare system. Not so great in terms of psychiatrists though, generally costs anyway from $170 - $250 per visit. Mental health just for those who can afford huh? Fortunately if you find a understanding Dr, they can put you on a what is called a 'Scheduled Fee' which offers a slightly reduced fee, you then take your receipt to your public medical health service , and you get all back bar a very small amount, usually about $30. Eventually you get it all back. This is great for people on a low income like me. It means I can get the help I need for a minimal fee. I am on Lamicatal, unfortunately it is not on our pharmaceutical benefits scheme (which is a gov subsidy for common medications which reduces their cost greatly) for bipolar, only for epilepsy. This unfortunately makes it bit expensive by Aus standards something like $50-$60 a month, your average AD here is under $30
