Hi, I am new to this forum. After battling with major depression and obsessions/perfectionism for about 10 years, I finally did something about it, and was given sertraline this week for my depression and OCD symptoms. I have been told to take 50mg once a day (which I take in the mornings after breakfast). So far, I have been feeling agitated, sick and very sleepy, which was annoying at work. But I have heard the side effects eventually wear off.

Before I joined this forum, I read a lot of the threads in this subforum, and read mixed views on its effectiveness for depression. But there is quite limited views on its usage for OCD. Has anyone been using it for OCD? Please share your experiences.

Thank you.

Welcome to DF, BubblyBlue,

Zoloft has been very effective with my depression. I also have OCD which it's apparantly helping, too. However, we all respond differently to medications. Side-effects usually go away in a few weeks.
