Out of the blue I was hit with a tidal wave of anxiety & depression yesterday afternoon; despite feeling pretty well before this, it left me in a debilitated state for the remainder of the day. The feelings remained as I tried to get up this morning & when I finally did I noticed that my right eye was not opening all the way. It wasn't itchy or red, but I took out my contact & changed it just to be sure. My eye still looked droopy but I went to work hoping it was all in my head. Well it's not as a friend/coworker noticed it right away. She asked me if I had numbness or tingling, which I don't, then made me smile to make sure the rest of my facial muscles were working. She said it was probably just stress & nothing to worry about since everything else was working properly.

Has this ever happened to anyone, will it go back to normal? I sometimes experience a twitching of my right eye lid & I'm worried it could be something more.

I've gotten the eye twitching from anxiety and sometimes puffiness, but never an asymmetrical droop. If it keeps up, definitely see a doctor.

This reminds me of a friend of mine who developed Bell's Palsy, which is a temporary paralysis of the facial muscles that can cause drooping, and it's usually on one side or the other. I think stress was a factor, although it was many years ago so I don't remember all the details. It came on quickly, then faded away over the next several days, which is typical according to the information I just Googled.

The short answer is YES.

I had a droopy eyelid for a good two years, it would droop and in-opportune times and always returned at the same time each day. There was no infection.
