Hi...Just starting this one after having too many side effects from Lexapro, and Celexa being helpful but not all that often. I just wondered how long it takes to start helping. Even a little. My dr said I could go with either this one or Prozac, but it seems like Prozac takes such a long time. I"m also confused about this drug and anxiety. The dr said it wasn't going to help me with that one, but the pharmicist said it would do more for the anxiety than the Lexapro.

Thanks!

Hi aries woman
Have a look at the thread called "The Wellbutrin honeymoon". I needed an adjunct to the WB for it to work for me (only added later), so I can't really comment on when it kicked it.

"Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
.....
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul." - "Invictus" (abbreviated), William Ernest Henley, 1875

Depending on how you metabolize medications, you may start to feel better within a week or not. All pmeds can take 6-8 weeks (maybe some dosage adjustments) to become fully effective. The keyword with all meds is patience, even though we want and need relief now. Wellbutrin has a tendency to elevate senses. For some it makes anxiety worse and for others not. We all react differently to pmeds.
