Its sad to me because he was such a talented actor and had a bright future ahead of him.

NOPE! People make choices on a daily basis. Depression can be a burden ......... will move this to DC for more responses.

Heath Ledger was very addicted to intoxication. He smoked 5 joints a day for the past 3 years up to his death.. I don't think he did it by mistake, I think he was depressed enough to want to try to get high enough to forget his problems, and he accidently crossed the line (or on purpose? idk)

I felt a little that way about Tim Russert, the political pundit. I cried about him. Perhaps in your case it's because you are afraid, like you, that his voice wasn't heard and that's why he died. I cried about Tim because I don't like change and he seemed kind, like he would be a friend to me if I knew him.

It's a shame that his finest role had to be his last.

I've made this comment before to people, but look in the man's eyes when watching the Dark Knight. I don't think he's acting. For all practical intents and purposes, he WAS The Joker.

Cool - I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is still affected by his passing! I have enjoyed some of his movies, but no more or less than most other actors, and I don't really get into all the celebrity worship that seems so rampant these days. I was a little shocked back in January when I heard the news that he had died, but I just assumed that he had gotten messed up in illegal drugs or something. When they finally announced the true cause of death, it hit me like a ton of bricks! I also have or have had every one of those meds, and, like Heath, have a young child to look after. It really bothered me for a week or two, I couldn't stop thinking about his death, probably because I went through something very, very similar. I remember the nights when I couldn't sleep, when my brain was going 24/7, dropping lots of weight because of low-grade mono. I also remember taking way too much ambien, xanax, ativan - you name it, anything to numb the pain a little. I was just fine until I went to see Batman: The Dark Knight. That got the ball rolling all over again, another couple weeks of sorrow and torment. That too passed, until now. They just released the Batman DVD, so I see his face everywhere again, and now I'm back in this dreadful rut. I really don't think it's Heath specifically that gets me so bummed out, but the circumstances of his death. That could have very easily happened to me, maybe almost did with the number of meds I was taking. I guess that I figured having all of the fame and fortune meant you wouldn't be depressed, or at the very least, help would be easy to find. If anyone has any tips or suggestions on how to stop this pattern, please let me know.

i agree with you, i actually did not see the movie an dhad my husband take the kids and i will not watch the video. i guess it bothers me too because i wil take depression med, cold med, and not think about wether or not to add a pain med to that mixture, if anything it has helped me , but it saddens me that people like him and us do not have better help, i am sure he could of afforded it and i know we tend not to ask for hlp but it just makes me wonder

He does play the role almost flawlessly, doesn't he?

I found Heath Ledgers death unfortunate, I didn't feel personally upset by it but I really do find it a shame. He was a great actor, and I think instead of shutting out the fact that he is gone maybe you should rent out a few of his movies and celebrate his talent. His death is an example to us all that we need to keep up the fight and not let our own strengths and talents go to waste.
