I started taking lexapro about a year and a half ago for depression. I started at 5mgs then went to 10mgs. I currently am taking 10mgs. About 6 months ago, I went up to 20 for about a month but felt worse. I am also prescribed Adderall and ambian (Ive been taking ambian for a few years at 10mg). I haver terrible adhd and have been taking the adderall for years. I was up to a pretty high dosage which was one of the causes for the depression. I am Still taking adderall but a much lower dosage when I need to study. Doctor just put me on Wellbutrin. I am taking Bupropion HCL ER 100mg. I take it when I wake up in the morning and I take the lexapro at night. I take the adderall during the day when needed. So, I have been taking this combination for about 7 weeks now. I have not felt any different what so ever. And I also feel as if the adderall doesnt work at all anymore, not sure if thats in my head or what. Before when Id take it to study or something, I could definately feel more awake and concentrated. I swear I feel more tired now after taking it but like I said not sure if its in my head.. I dont feel any more motivated, in fact I feel less and also like a zombie, constantly tired. is this in my head? or can this happen? I had no "honeymoon" period. The doctor started me on it because I have been feeling really unmotivated and Can not seem to get any motivation at all. Anyhow, Should I keep going another 6 weeks? Is this just in my head that the adderall is not working anymore at all? Any thoughts or suggestions would be really appreciated. Sorry if this didnt make sense, I tend to ramble on! (must be the add in me! ) Hope everyone is doing great <

8 weeks is considered a fair trial for Wellbutrin, although as Burgy says, some poeple need 3 months to feel the full effect. I don't know Adderall or ADHD, so wouldn't be able to advise you, other than to make an appointment with the doc once you've done 8 weeks and let him/her re-assess.

I am the captain of my soul." - "Invictus" (abbreviated), William Ernest Henley, 1875

Hi Lizzy, I was on Strattera for my ADHD for a long time, and it wasn't until I was put on Ritalin that I started to feel much better. Ritalin is one of the oldest ADHD meds, it's well trusted and cheap and it works!!!! If you don't feel like the Adderall is helping anymore, maybe ask your psych doc to put you on the Ritalin for a trial run. I know for me, it was a life saver and has opened up a whole new world for me. I have more energy, concentration and motivation. It's worked wonders for me when the Strattera simply couldn't do anything more for me, I was at the highest dosage you can take and I reached a certain level and could go no further. Try it, you might be surprised and happy with it. Take care, darkshadow.
