after a year and a half i still find myself in quite a bit of pain from my car accident, i have mentioned before thet i cant even lay in bed and be comfortable, recently i havent been able to sleep , going for 4 days with no sleep and even trying sleeping pills with no help,, i have given in to using my mr's to helpme sleep becuse i basicaly pass out, this is no way for me to live i cant seem to break the cycle,, efffexor is giving me very weird and vivid dreams, probably need to go to doctor but really dont feel like talking about things with him

i recently started thinkimg about brittany spears, i dont condone her lifestyle , i am a mother and have always done the best for my children , so her motherly ways do need help , but as i read alot of post i hear how alot of us are hiding our depression , our need to cut, our days that we curl up in bed and dont let family members know how sadd we are, our suicidal thougts , our thoughts of being alone yet not wanting to be social.. now if this poor girl does have depression or is bipolar how can you imagine she feels having everyone around her taking pictures, up in her buisness and telling down right lies, if she truely feels like alot of us do i have to feel very sorry for her....

Hi Chel

Its a vicious circle, lack of sleep cause more pain and can do the weirdest things to the mind and pain and an emotional state can cause lack of sleep. It is best that you do go to your doc and explain, so that you can find something that is more balanced for you.

Chel

When you feel like you want to isolate and hurt yourself, that is the most important time to talk to someone, especially your doc. By isolating you are harming yourself more. I realize it is hard, but try to find the strength to talk and not isolate.

Hi chel, I really side with Trace on this one. With depression, the big tendency is to isolate and withdraw into ourselves. The key is to recognize when you're doing this and to reach out for help just like you did by posting on here. If you can talk to us, then it's highly probable that you can talk to your doctor and get the help that you need. Hope this helps hun, I can totally related to the way you're feeling right now. Take good care of yourself, darkshadow.

You're totally welcome chel, hey, I never said that this opening up would be easy!!!! It takes time and practice to learn to open up to the right people at the right time. Life isn't fair and it isn't easy, that's for sure!!! I'm sorry that you couldn't open up to your doc when he/she called. It's unfortunate, but not the end of the world. Someday, you'll be ready to face that fear and you'll accomplish what you've set out to do. Take baby steps until then. Open up in small ways to some people you trust. Practice doing that chel, it's not easy, but it' s not impossible either. I wish you the best of luck, you'll do it honey, keep the faith and you'll open up some day and probably wonder what all the fuss was about. Lol. We can always hope that's the case anyways! Take good care of yourself, darkshadow.

What sort of pain is it? Maybe you could see a pain specialist, there are lots of different medications. There's the opiates (codeine, fetanyl patches), anti-inflammatories, ads, even the newer ones like lyrica for nerve pain. Don't suffer if you don't need too, if you aren't sleeping your pain isn't being managed well enough and you need to keep trying.

I understand how pain can lead to depression, please hang in there.

i recently started thinkimg about brittany spears,

What about Heath? I’ve recently been thinking about how Heath Ledger died at 28, as I seem to be following right down the same path due to a lack of sleep. I try & go a few days without taking sleeping meds, but I’m up all night & feel miserable. Then I eventually have to take something to bring myself down, & it’s not just a sleeping pill, trust me.

I hate the pasty feeling of constantly not getting enough sleep. I was on Wellbutrin SR for 3 weeks & loved it. Sadly, it made my sleeping worse so I had to part with it. Right now in my life, I value sleep even over being depressed. I wish some Dr. could help me, but they all pass out the sleeping pills like the Easter bunny.

the pain has just been real bad lately and has migrated and makng it harder to work. i have tried cymbalta but my stomache could not deal with it, physical therapy put me in more pain, i started with a m therapy and it will get rid os spasms but not al the pain, it is cold here finaly and that has also made it worse , but it is so hard because by the end of my worl day i am spent i have a very demanding job. and when i talk to my husband i tend to complain , i think i am looking for sympathy but he is tired of hearing it and does not know how to help any more so then i get no response and that adds to my depression... oh its just this viscous circle of hell

Proberbly a bit different over there but when i can i go down to local swimming pool and get into the hydro-therapy pool whick is set about 32 degees celcius,if i can manage to walk back and forth in there with the help o the water to take the weight of my spine i find i get a lot of relief particlarly in winter.

oh i love my pool in the summer ! its the one place that i have no pain and it is an amazing feeling that i have not had in years. the other day i babysat a 17 month old little girl, i didnt pick her up much but was constantly getting up and down of the floor, though i had a great time i woke up the next morning and every muscle in my body hurt, i am so worried about how much physicalpain i was in you would of thought i got beaten up with a basebal bat i hurt so bad the weird thing is that i teach kindergarten and it is very demanding i do alot of walking and am trying to get my jogging back , yes i know its not the best choice but my body does ok with it and it makes me feel so good trust me its not a hard run more like skipping ! i eat healthy , the one thing i can not do and i love to do is weight lifting even the smallest weight can put me in the hospital , i have a real fear of dying young because i am not able to do simple things in life with out feeling so much pain
