Hello,

I am new here but wanted to get advice as to Cymbalta. I was started on a 30 mg dose, then increased to 60 mg after two weeks and am now on 120 mgs. I have bipoloar disorder and had a breakdown in March. Am feeling better except for the sexual side effects. Has anyone else had this with Cymbalta? Am thinking about asking psych about decreasing dose. At least I am able to get out of the house now without the intense fear I had been experiencing but shouild I have to give up physical relationship with my husband?

I am on 60 have been for 3 weeks but i think i will have to go up to 120 soon , iwould check in with your pdoc because if the meds at 120 working for your depression thats got to be good maybe he can give you something to help with the sexual side effects. i am all over the place as far the sexual side effects at the moment but as my wife dosent have a great need for sexual fullfillment its not causing a problem but have a look arround other parts of this forum there is bound to be more imfo in this matter as far as side effects and hoe to deal with them.

Have a nice day......

Thanks kindly for your reply. I will check elsewhere on the site. Seeing my pdoc tomorrow and have mentioned to her but she is more concerned now about my mental health. The 120 mg dose is working for me. Thank you again. Have a great day.

You can try to ask your MD to decrease your dosage to 90 mg. to see if that helps. I did have some problems in this area initially, but like all other side effects, this one also subsided over time. This is when a caring and understanding husband, partner, boyfriend, whatver is really necessary.

Thank you so much for your reply, MaddieLouise. I am lucky to have the support of my husband and hoping that this side effect will subside as well. Kind Regards, Madelane.

i am new here as well.....but as a man i have also had sexual side effects........the desire is there, but have become practically impotent.....and when i can have relations, i no longer have the ability to have an orgasm.....i am going to talk to my head doctor today...and i am on only 60 mmg.......i, too, have a patient wife, but it is hard as a man to lose this part of our lives......you do need to talk to your doctor......ask him is there is something else you can take or ask him if this will go away over time......
