anyone combining sertraline with any other antidepressant?

i´ve been on venlafaxine for 6 weeks and after a weak response my doc decided to combine sertraline and I am feeling better in just 8 days taking sertraline. he said he thinks about stopping venlafaxine and I wonder what med could replace venlafaxine. because for me venlafaxine was great on anxiety but not on motivation.

If they work great in combination, and you don't mind taking both, then tell your doctor that you are content with what you're taking. It can be a bad idea to mess with a good thing.

I take a combo of sertaline and imipramine (tricyclic) that work well together. I don't have the professional knowledge in regards to combo's of AD's. It's best you consult with your pdoc about your meds.

Thank you Only7 and Sheepwoman, I stopped the Venlafaxine yesterday, and I´m feeling much better only with Sertraline.

Could Sertraline be taken with a small dose of Remeron (that one helps me sleep well), I wonder.

I hope that you are still feeling well. I would check with the Doc about mixing meds, and check out the Remeron room. Maybe there is some advice there you can talk with your Doc about.

Well, after 2 days I had to start taking Efexor again because I had withdrawal symptoms (very unpleasant). So I am now on 225mg Efexor XR and 100mg Sertraline. Sertraline is good helping me sleep better. I expected more from the Efexor. I am withdrawing it slowly now to go back to the Remeron. Because both of them affect the same neurotransmitters, I thought Efexor would work like Remeron, but it does not. Remeron seems much more potent on both serotonin and noradrenalin related effects.

Yes, you can combine those two. I take Sertraline in the morning and Remeron in the evening.
