I've been back on Prozac for about a month and a half and am now up to 60mg (two weeks now).

I am feeling better generally, and am less "manic" but I still find that I am somewhat down...if I am not constantly working and achieving things I feel like a total waste of space, and honestly, I have a tough time finding my motivation sometimes...

Is this as good as it gets or should I be feeling "better" than I am. I am also 6 months pregnant and so am hesitant to have my dosage up any higher...

In order to keep feeling better you need to be achieving things. Have you been making lifestyle changes? A good diet, regular exercise, and a good sleep pattern are ways that you can help combat depression on your own. How is your social life? The pills cannot make you better on their own.

Hey dlinm smile.gif

Your in the later stages of your pregnancy now so thats proabably wearing you down and adding to what you already have.

I remember when I was pregnant I would get tired easy and everything seemed like an effort, along with the depression I didnt know what to think, just started to take it easy and see where it went till after the birth, this happened with both my pregnancies.

Try and not be to hard on yourself, it seems to be helping in some ways, so thats a good thing.

The best thing you could do is talk it over with your doctor and see what they have to say about an increase in dosage.

Lets us know how your going and also when your baby arrives.

HUGS & Hope everything goes well for you

agree with onlyZ, keep achieving things and you will feel better in time. The meds help but the achievements are up to you. You will do great and be better

Pre-partum depression occurs in many women (my neice had it). Docs in general are usually hesitant to prescribe AD's to pregnant women. Prozac appears to be the most commonly prescribed AD for pregnant women. I guess it's proven to be safe for use in pregnancy. You should be feeling better at 60mg (80mg is the max dose), if not, consult with your pdoc. AD's alone trigger manic episodes for my Bipolar.
