Ok...so I began taking Budeprion SR twice a day a couple of months ago. It worked beautifully and I finally felt happy and like I wasn't suffering anymore. Then when my prescription ran out, the doctor at my school health clinic prescribed me Wellebutrin and the pharmacy wouldn't give me the genric. So I ended up with Wellebutrin XL 150 that I took once a day. I immediatly felt a change. It wasn't horrible but it definately wasn't working as well as the generic brand did. So after taking it for about two months I went to my doctor at home and request to switch back.

I was prescribed Buproprian SR 150 to take twice a day. Well, the first day I was incredibly irritable, my anxiety intensely increased, and i began to get paranoid. Those symptoms have continued throughout these last two days and I have also been really emotional. I cry over the drop of a hat. Now...I guess this sometimes happens with new medications...but I've taken this medication before and it worked. I don't understand why I am reacting so badly to it now. I begged my dad to put me back onto regular Wellebutrin because my paranoia is interfering with my relationship. I obsess about it and can't stop convincing myself that my boyfriend hates me and is going to break up with me at any second.

Has this happened to anybody else? Why is my experience so different with the same medication the second time around? Please...I'm really upset and confused. I'm hoping to find an answer.

For some people medication does not work the same way once you try restarting it. I'm not sure why that is, but it is fairly common to not have a medication work the same way each time you take it. If it is not working to your liking, then you should look into other medications.

Someone help me out! Isn't this the same med? Forgive if it isn't.

Iam, I hope that you do find the med that suits you.

One is generic, one is name brand. One is the SR formulation, one is the XL formulation. I know it's hard to keep track of Bupropion's 436 different variations sometimes mad1.gif.
