I'm 17 years of age, from Australia, Melbourne. Yes we do have a counselling system at school but I've had my fair share of differences with teachers and I don't think I could complete counselling at my school. I feel like if I do see the counseller - that the teachers have gotten the better of me if they find out I go, it's hard to explain. Is there such a thing as public counselling?

I hear you! I felt as you did for many years about needing to talk. I eventually registered with a psychologist who listened - venting my anger left from childhood helped a great deal, it cleared my brain enabling me to move on, to see things in the now and not dwell on what I couldn't alter.
Year 12 is how old? From this I assume you are in the UK? Sometimes after the meds begin to work we hit a low; in my case it's when I take on too many commitments because I feel good enough to say 'yes' at the time; then panic or feel too tired which causes me to worry about letting people down. Sometimes I don't eat properly so my meds can't work properly or I forget to take them properly

the 'set-backs' are often more of a problem than the depression was intiailly!
Do you have a counselling system in school? Maybe you should make an appt with your prescribing doctor for an up-date on your symptoms.
