Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and find it a relief to know that there are others out there. I am struggling deeply with both insomnia and somnolence as my main side effects from Celexa. I have been experiencing the jaw clenching, the insomnia, the somnolence, night sweats, headaches, clumsiness, the shakes and pressure sensations in my head. I was on prozac for years and loved it. My withdrawl from prozac was nil and uneventful. I am really struggling with celexa and have been on it now for a month. I have had to increase taking my klonopins since my anxiety has still been bad. Has anyone experienced the insomnia or somnolence as one of their main side effects and how long until my system will regulate?

Thanks!

welcomeani.gif to DF, Kristin!

I had all the side effects you mentioned while I adjusted to Celexa. It took about 8 weeks for the side effects to fade, and for the therapeutic effects to build up and stabilize. The only thing that has remained is mild and occasional fatigue, but caffeine does the trick. I hope you get through the adjustment phase soon.
