I started taking lexapro and was on it for a week and a half, when it started working with fantastic results....not knowing the warnings, and being a young, naive college student, i decided to go out and drink a good amount the first night(saturday) it started working.....i had the first night of drinking that i felt normal in god knows how long and had no bad effects or any sign of any unusual symptoms....the following Wednesday, i went out and drank a little bit, again with no side effects or symptoms, just fun......the following day (Thursday), i went out a drank a good amount, and was fine the entire evening, until about 4 in the morning, when i woke up in the middle of the night to throw up....i woke up at 6 to throw up again.....when i woke the following morning, i had the worst hangover i have ever had, and felt like crap for the entire next day....the throwing up and the hangover were both very uncharastic of me, and i know for a fact are related to the Lexapro....following this incident, the medicine had stopped working, and i also had this week long stomach problem, where anything i ate, i felt like i was going to throw it up.....after that week, the medicine started working again-but not as good as it did in the beginning-for about 4 days, when i needed to skip my dosage for two days(reason is unrelavent to story)

....ive been taking 10 mg since those 2 days, with no results again, and my doctor raised my dosage from 10mg to 20mg, and it has been 4 days, still with no results ....every morning when i wake up, i pray to be myself again, and it never happens, it is the most frustrating thing....does anyone know anything about this problem or what has happened to me?....also, i have stopped drinking altogether in the meantime, and while on medicine will only drink moderately, if at all from now on....please help, any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated....thank you

a few side notes....1.my psychiatrist did not warn me at all about the alcohol side effects....2.when i say i drank a good amount, that means enough to get a healthy 180 pound, 18 year old male drunk....3.I am by no means a big drinker...i rarely drank more then 2 days a week prior to this incident, and rarely got drunk when i did go out....also the medicine made me get drunk a lot faster, wich was another reason i got drunk on the two nights i did drink a lot.

I'm surprised the pharmacist didn't tell you.

these days it's standard practice that the pharma tells you the major things to stay away from.
