I take my Cymbalta twice a day (2 20mg capsules). I take one when I first get up and then another one at roughly 1pm. I feel that when evening hits I am starting to feel anxious and depressed again. I am wondering if the Cymbalta has left my system by this time. Does anyone else experience this?

QUOTE (MaddieLouise @ Mar 21 2008, 01:52 AM) Anxious63, I have not really experienced a relapse in my anxiety at the end of the day. Maybe you should ask your Dr. if he/she feels you should take the second dosage later in the day or possibly you might consider increasing to 60 mg., which appears to be a fairly standard dosage. Of course, your Dr. is the best adviser. I did try taking 2 20 mg. capsules twice a day and that wasn't a strong enough dosage for me personally, but some people do fine with just 30, so it all depends on the individual. Strangely enough, I feel average when I wake up, OK between 10am-3pm, really bad between 3pm and 7pm, then really good until I go to sleep. Weird or what?

I think we all have different "biorhythms" or whatever they are scientifically called, and you'd probably find that many people follow your pattern or have one of their own. Kind-of like the "I'm a morning person", "night owl", etc. The late afternoon is a down time for me as well. It helps to eat something (preferably with protein) to try and get the energy and mood level back up.

To be honest, the late afternoon thing is newish for me but in the past I've found that I have felt crap all day and better late evening.... Maybe I should try eating or something late afternoon?

It could just be a real sugar low too. That's usually what mine is. I try to eat a protein bar, peanut butter or cheese crackers, etc. Also, it's been recommended to drink a lot of water while taking Cymbalta since it's time released (Jackie-Cymbalta Forum Admin. always gives that advice and I have to agree). Water can make you feel better too, although I'm the worst about drinking it continuously as I should. Maddie
