I've just be told by my doc to add a tablet of lithium to my daily dose of 40 mg of Prozac . I would like to ask if anyone has tried this and what is to be expected? I had visited her complaining that Prozac no longer has the same effect on my after 10 years of taking it. Her suggestion was to try adding lithium for two weeks before experimenting with other medication. She also said that Lithium isn't really an antidepressant but rather just a natural element. Is this true ?

i think there's 2 kinds of lithium -- the stronger, prescription kind -- and something else that i've heard you can buy OTC.
i thought that the prescription lithium was more of an anti-psychotic than an AD.
i'm not sure what the OTC lithium thing is -- maybe someone else knows?
