Of course, starting a new med can be scary, not to mention frustrating since it can take several weeks to kick in. Those of you who have been helped by zoloft/sertraline, please share your success stories with us! I'm sure it will be a great source of encouragement to those who are starting the climb out of the pit of depression with the help of zoloft!

Take care,
Dewayne

I had periods of confusion on startup, and still have problems sometimes when my dose is adjusted. Hopefully, your head will begin to clear somewhat!

Take care,
Dewayne

I think i have an success story to share. I am on Zoloft for major depression. I feel a lot better. It is the first time for years that i do not think about suicide all day long. I have a lot more energy and i have been able to do things a have been postponing for so long. I do not feel that helpless and lost anymore. I have been able to socialize more. I am much improved.

However it did not help me with sleeplessness and nightmares.

Well and it makes me very nervous and my hands tremble all the time and i started itching from head to toe. I do not know if that is Zoloft.

Hey Christopher,

It's great to hear that zoloft is helping your depression! I hope the doc can help you with the sleeplessness, and be sure to tell him/her about the tremors and itching. Tremors are common on zoloft from what I hear, and the itching, it could be an allergy to something, possibly even your meds. I hope you continue to improve, though! It's great to hear from you!

Take care,
Dewayne

I have been on 100mg of Zoloft for the past 7 months and have got significantly better. Almost nearing normal. Shouldn't be too much longer before I start to feel some sense of normality.

Ur very forturenant that zoloft has helped u, when i tried it i ended up in the hospital after going of the deep end. the only med that has helped me some is paxil, but i still suffer bouts of depression. prozac also made me feel better, but that was the problem, i felt to much better. plus i felt very diconnected from my emotions, nothing bother me and i was always "giddy). people always asked me why i was so "up" all the time. at first i thought i was suppose to feel this way, even my doctor noticed how i was acting and reacting, he finaly took me off zoloft and i came crashing down and back to the hospital. sorry for any mis-spells, i can't download a spell checker. Hope you feel better! I just switched from Lexapro to Zoloft as I was really starting to feel "flat" and I am hoping this will help. I am also taking 300mg wellbutrin, Lamactil. Anyone change with success?

Thanks, Tommy

Hi Vega,

Finding the right med is unfortunately a trial and error process - and it's a real pain when you keep having errors......

When you do find a med or med combo that helps, it's truly a lifesaver. Don't give up - it is definitely worth it to keep fighting.

Take care,
Dewayne

Hey Tommyd,

I think recovering from depression changes everyone a bit, not that we become different people, but we become the people there underneath the depression. I like to think that treatment returned me to who I am, instead of the other way around.

I hope the zoloft helps you! Keep us posted on how you're doing.

Take care,
Dewayne

I hope those thoughts are gone for good - I know how hard they are to deal with. Keep us posted on how you're doing! Are you seeing any other positive changes?
