SEARCH - How do I look for posts by a particular Member or for a particular word or topic?
Have you read a post by a member and wondered what else that member has said? (You can even find your own posts in case you forgot where you said what and when!)
Are you looking for information about a particular topic keyword such as XANAX, for example?
Are you looking for a particular word in a post on the forum such as NAUSEA, for example?
The Forum has a search facility just for that purpose.
Click on the SEARCH icon at the top of the screen.
You will be presented with a SEARCH fill in the blanks screen.
The first box says "SEARCH KEYWORD". Enter a Member's name or a keyword such as NAUSEA or XANAX.
The second box says "Member name / Posts and or Topic Titles" This is where you tell the system whether or not the keyword represents a member's name you are looking for or a particular word.
The third box says "Forums". Click on "All Open Forums" to search everywhere. Click on the name of a Forum room to narrow the search to that one area. There is also a note about using the CTRL key to choose multiple rooms for the search.
The fourth box says "Search in...". Click on either Topic Titles, Posts or both (all)
The fifth box says "Seach From". It is a pull down menu. Click on the arrow and select one of the choices. You can tell the search to look from the beginning, which means all posts on the Forum or you can narrow the search to TODAY, THIS WEEK, THIS MONTH or THIS YEAR. Clicking on, "From Beginning" will get you the best results!
Click on the SEARCH icon to begin.
In a few seconds, you will see a page with all the topics that meet your search criteria. Although it will not show you just a single post that meets your search, it will show you the topic that contains the search criteria you are looking for.
Look at one topic you are interested in. Click the back arrow to see the list again so you can make another choice.
So when you want to find someone or something on the Forum, let the computer seach facility do it for you!!!
Thank you. :;):
