my doctor has just prescribed me dexedrine (dextroamphetamine sulfate) 30 mg twice a day for ADHD, major fatigue and depression. I used to take it 3 years ago for depression then i stoped, for a year now ive been taking mdma for depression and it worked but after a while until now the dexedrine dosent work for depression...so my question is...has anyone noticed adderall to work better in any way for depression then dexedrine?

Super,
With all drugs, it depends upon the person. Unfortunately, it's trial & error.

I can only help you with the adderall side of it but it sure does work for me. I take 80mg a day and I have more energy and focus than I would with my other medications alone. I take it for diagnosed ad/hd (my prn only wrote that to get the rx signed) and fatigue due to other medications i take throughout the day, klonopin xanax, etc.

Adderal has been a wonder drug for my conditions but thats like Gonzo said, all medications effect each of us differently.

I do know dexedrine has alot of potential side effects that the adderall doesnt. You might want to look them up on a pharmacy site, i use walgreens online cause it gives the prices too.

Hope i was of some help!
James

adderall has helped me out more than anything i've ever taken. I take remeron at night. I'm a pretty tall/big individual and I only take 20mg.
and 15mg remeron at nite.

i'm sorry, but did you say you are taking mdma?
is that possible wwww.gif

wish i could help with a comparison but i've never heard of the other one

about the MDMA....i've takan at least 4 to 5 pills of X for about a year...after i got out of the psychiatric hospital that was when i had to stop the MDMA because of probation. since i've gotten out almost every feeling in my body is gone...i'm currently on ritalin and i still suffer from extreme fatigue and suicidal depression...nothing works...i'm pretty sure i'm getting a tricylic anti-depressant soon...because i read that it works on dopamine recovery and for pepole recovering from MDMA (ecstasy)..thats my next step...and theres a new anti-depressant coming out...its called Vanoxerine...i heard it has a huge potential benefit for depression because it works alot on dopamine.

if anyone could find more info on Vanoxerine..please let me know Coopclapping.gif

I take Dexadrine. It helps me out. I used to be on Ritalin, and it was hit or miss. Sometimes it would work great and sometimes it would make me too gittery. Its weird but I take Lorazepam with it. I also take Celexa for my depression.
I had asked my Doc. about Adderal, but he put me on Dexadrine instead. He said it was basically the same thing. I sometimes feel like he isn't listening to me...and our sessions usually only last about 20 mins. He is pretty old too.

My psych. recently put me on Ritalin. I worked my way up to 45mg. per day (I took it three times per day) but didn't notice any difference. She's trying it for my depression and fatigue. I also take Wellbutrin, Cymbalta, and Lexapro. Last week she switched me to Ritalin SR and today was day two. I felt really 'happy' for a few hours, but then developed a severe headache and deep inner ear pain. She said the SR would last eight hours, but it seems to only last 3-4 hours for me.

Anyone else experience this with Ritalin and if so, did you doctor switch you to a need stimulant? Did it help?

Thanks,
Liz

I think dexies are stronger...Sorry I can't help more than that. My freinds on adderall, 30 mg XR, and she seems less depressed (she used to cut and stuff.) but I think that's because a lot of her depression was tied up with not being able to get anything done, or even really hold a conversation due to really bad ADHD. Again, sorry I can't be of maore help.

dextroamphetamine is stronger then amphetamine due to the d-isomer. d=dextro(amphetamine). so dexedrine will probably be more powerfull and will feel that way also
